PIRGHOS - KATAKOLON RAILWAY:
The Company Sidirodromos Pirghou - Katakolou s.a. (SPK) was founded on 13 June 1883 by the General Credit Bank with a share capital of 1.450.000 drachmas and the exclusive project of operating the existing railway line Pirghos - Katakolon. In 1890 the company was acquired by the EMSE but soon EMSE suspended its activity. In 1951 the SPK belonged to the SPAP and ceased to exist as a company.
